Lahori food cooked like home, for families in Akalla
In Jarva there are plenty of restaurants, but few cook proper Lahori food. We mean the kind of cooking where karahi simmers for hours in a hand-hammered degchi, biryani smells of saffron and the meat quality is guaranteed halal. Jalvi does exactly that. We are at Dalvägen 1, 10 minutes on the blue line from Akalla, and every single dish follows family recipes from Punjab.
On weekdays we have a lunch buffet from 10:30 to 14:30 with rotating dishes like dal, chicken karahi, palak paneer, charcoal-grilled meat and freshly baked naan. But it is the weekends that draw many families from Akalla and Husby: our Desi Nashta brunch with halwa puri, paratha and masala chai has become a weekend tradition for the regulars.
For celebrations like Eid and large family gatherings, we do catering with tailored buffet menus and delivery across the Jarva area, including Akalla, Husby, Kista and Rinkeby. Our a la carte menu is perfect for evening dinners, and takeaway can be ordered for pickup or delivery via Foodora.

Blue line (T11) from Akalla T-bana to Solna Centrum. 10 minutes direct with no transfer. Then a 5-minute walk.

Our karahi is cooked in a degchi, not a saucepan. Our biryani uses saffron, not colouring. Our BBQ is over charcoal, not in an oven. If you know the difference, Jalvi is the right place.

Every Saturday and Sunday we serve halwa puri, paratha, spiced omelettes and chai. Families from Akalla and Husby have made it a tradition.
